At RT 113 Boat Sales, we've done our best to create a Web site that anticipates and satisfies our customers' needs. With that goal in mind, we've compiled a list of frequently asked questions. If you do not find an answer to your question here, e-mail us at RT113BoatSales@aol.com.

Tax Free Delaware?

Q, I do not live in Delaware so can I still purchase a new boat purchased from you in Delaware and not pay Taxes?

A, Delaware does not require you to be a resident to register your boat in Tax Free Delaware and Pay no Taxes on the Boat and/or Motor.

Since we are a resort destination store, We have many customers that live in the surrounding states such as PA. MD. VA. NJ and even NY. and they have Delaware registrations year after year. Most trailer their boats and they do boat in Delaware waters as well as many other waters.

The question we will ask when we register your boat is “What will be your primary use of waters” and if you say Delaware we can sell you a DE registration.

A 23 foot boat is only $21.50 a year. We Love Delaware!

We have many customers that legitimately boat in Delaware waters as well as many other areas. If and when stopped out of state and asked why they have a DE boat registration they simply reply, My primary waters of use are Delaware such as Delaware Bay, Indian River and Rehobeth Bay.

Please note that if you get a Delaware registration and place your boat in the water (behind your house or at a marina) for an extended period of time, 30, 60 or 90 days, then that states rules apply.

Please call 302-436-1737 and or e-mail us at RT113BoatSales@aol.com with questions regarding this and always check with your local authorities.
